Addressing Amnesia, Performing Trauma

Edited Anthology by Kathrin Heinrich and Frida Robles with an introduction by Eva Kernbauer

Please feel warmly invited to the presentation of the book "Addressing Amnesia, Performing Trauma", edited by Kathrin Heinrich and Frida Robles:

The edited anthology “Addressing Amnesia, Performing Trauma” inquires how contemporary artistic practices performatively deal with trauma and repressed histories in Austria. By bringing together perspectives from the arts, art history, philosophy, dance studies, and history, the anthology based on the eponymous symposium held at Angewandte in 2022 addresses issues like social forgetfulness, historical trauma, and historical denial within the countries of the former Austrian monarchy.
